OSK3f7aa0_Final_Fantasy_VIINostalgia plays a big role when you decide to play this game again. While we are quite far from the oft-requested HD remake, some people would be satisfied to have slight improvements such as upscaled graphics and pristine sound quality.

But we are talking about Square Enix, so you can bet there is a catch. Prepare for some tradeoffs (or rather, sacrifices) if you’re willing to pay 12 gil, specially if you really want to play the same game from 1997.

Today. Famitsu reported that Final Fantasy X-2-HD will be based off of the North American version.

This raises questions on if X-2 will contain the content from the International version of X-2. To know about the varying versions of the game then go check out Anderson Silva’s in depth articles on the Final Fantasy X series. It’s some very good reading.

This raises the other question on whether the extra’s from the International edition will be included as DLC, also if that is the case then Square Enix have learned from EA. Do something stupid until your company is known for being the biggest dick on the planet.

Final Fantasy X HD remaster will be released in 2013 for the PS3 and PS Vita.

Today, Square Enix announced via the Playstation blog the release dates for the western release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix.

The game will be released in North America on September 10th and Europe on September 13th. Along with that, when you preorder the game you get a snazzy artbook from the game. I stnad by the name being stupid but the release seems to be looking really well put together and I hope it does well when it’s released.

The game is currently available now in Japan.

I think I should state that one o the pieces I sent in to the site for my interview was a rage filled review of Final Fantasy XIII. The game is terrible in all sense of the word and guess what? It’s now haunting me from it’s tower of money.

IF you own a copy of Final Fantasy XIII and still have that piece of paper that granted you an item in Final Fantasy XIV, that scrap of paper means you get priority placement in the phase 3 beta test of A Realm Reborn. Don’t have the scrap? Square Enix will find it for you if you registered Final Fantasy XIII to your Square Enix Account.

A Realm Reborn: Final Fantasy XIV will be released By Square Enix this Summer for PC and PS3.

Today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be released this Summer.

No date has been anounced but the next phase of beta testing will feature PS3 testing and allow PC users to play with PS3 users. That is something pretty cool and I will say that makes me want the game a little bit more. the phase 3 beta will also introduce new content and cities.

The PC beta is going on now but PS3 beta testing will not happen until June.

Over the weekend , Square Enix trademarked ‘Iru to Ruca no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi’ which when translated means ‘Iru and Luca’s Wonderful Mysterious Keys’.

For those who don’t know, Dragon Quest Mosnters 2 was released as 2 games. One for Iru and one for Luca. According to Japanese game blogger Game Jouhou this translates out to a remake of the games. However, seeing as Nintendo is releasing the Zelda Oracle games on the 3DS eShop then this might actually just be a release on the shop.

More information as this story develops.

ffx1Wait, so there were actually FOUR versions of Final Fantasy X?

With the re-release of Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster, it would be nice to tell you what exactly is new in the package and what was already there back in the old Playstation 2. This game is one of the weaker examples of software revisions and updates before DLC was commonplace in the industry, with Square Enix being one of the most fond of such practices.

For those who do not know: Magitek was the mechanized weapons of the empire in Final Fantasy VI, one of my favorite games of all times. It was used since magic was gone. If you want to find out more I would go play the game, it’s worth it.

Enough of me being nostalgic, the trailer below just shows the redesigned magitek armour walking in the snow while a redone version of the opening theme of Final Fantasy VI. It’s a great clip and makes me want a remake of Final Fantasy VI.

New screenshots for Thief were released today showing off that the game looks and plays well.

The biggest thing so far is that The game is gonna be on PC and PS4. Next Gen consoles have been confirmed but no clue if this includes the recently released Wii U. The reason a lot of people think it won’t be is cause it would cost to much to port it to the Wii U. However, Epic recently stated that Unreal 4 can run on Wii U meaning since Thief runs on Unreal 3 it could be coming to the Wii U.

Thief will be released by Square Enix in 2014.
