Nostalgia plays a big role when you decide to play this game again. While we are quite far from the oft-requested HD remake, some people would be satisfied to have slight improvements such as upscaled graphics and pristine sound quality.
But we are talking about Square Enix, so you can bet there is a catch. Prepare for some tradeoffs (or rather, sacrifices) if you’re willing to pay 12 gil, specially if you really want to play the same game from 1997.
For those who do not know, Final Fantasy VIII had a PC release back in the early millenium and now it’s back.
Famitsu reports the PC rerelease of Final Fantasy VIII will feature high resolution graphics and the Chocobo World Mini-RPG which was only accessible with the pocket station.
The game will be available for the PC in Japan this year. There is no announcement of a North American or European release.

Good news for PC gamers! Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is coming to the platform. This was first revealed by director Hideo Kojima during his podcast and later confirmed by Jean Pierre Kellams, creative producer at Platinum Games, via Twitter.

Capcom has released a new facebook app that allows you to put your face on the Resident Evil Revelations boxart, and lets you print it for your game case.
The app was just released on facebook.

Square Enix has released new screenshots and artwork for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The new images include artwork of Bahamut, Odin, and new monsters, as well as screenshots of the locations that can be found across the city states of Eorzea.
A Realm Reborn is scheduled to enter the third phase of closed beta testing in June. Beta phase three will introduce PlayStation 3 users to the game for the very first time, where they will be able to experience the world of Eorzea alongside PC players due to the game’s cross-platform functionality.
Today, Capcom will release the demo for “Resident Evil Revelations HD” which will arrive later Today on Xbox 360, Steam, and Nintendo Wiiu, and Tomorrow, the 15th on Playstation 3. Players will be able to download and try out what some Resident Evil fans declare the best game in the series since the original trilogy.
Resident Evil Revelations is an HD remake of last years acclaimed 3DS title, “Resident Evil Revelations”, which stars both of the original Resident Evil characters, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. The game was well received, which prompted Capcom to bring the once portable only title to the living room; (Or bedroom).
“Resident Evil Revelations HD” also will be able to connect to the online service called “ResidentEvil.net”, and get content and use other online features. You can pre register right now on the service.
“Resident Evil Revelations HD” demo will arrive today, May 14th, and the game will launch on May 21st 2013.
Square Enix released a ton of news this weekend about A Realm Reborn: FFXIV.
The first enemy type called Primal will use popular summons from the series itself as an enemy type. It is believed that this type will be a high tier enemy requiring multiple people to defeat them. The second called Beastmen are not from the popular He-Man cartoon but various elemental creatures that seem to dwell in the area’s of the Primal’s. The third piece of news is the reveal of new locations in the game and the final piece of news is that a release date will be announced along with collector’s edition news later this month.

Capcom Unity’s blog announced the worldwide demo release of Resident Evil: Revelations HD.
The Demo will be released on Xbox Live, North American PSN, Steam and Wii U Ware on MAy 14th and European PSN on May 15th. My apologies to European PS3 customers but once again blame Sony.

Capcom put a video on it’s youtube page showing off the preorder bonus of combo moves for Remember Me. If you ever played Street Fighter then these combo’s seem familiar. The Dragon Punch, Flash Kick and Spinning Bird Kick are used by Ken Masters, Guile and Chun Li respectively. I cannot believe my knowledge of things like this actually came into play.
However the bonus’s can only be preordered from Amazon, Best Buy and Steam.

I think I should state that one o the pieces I sent in to the site for my interview was a rage filled review of Final Fantasy XIII. The game is terrible in all sense of the word and guess what? It’s now haunting me from it’s tower of money.
IF you own a copy of Final Fantasy XIII and still have that piece of paper that granted you an item in Final Fantasy XIV, that scrap of paper means you get priority placement in the phase 3 beta test of A Realm Reborn. Don’t have the scrap? Square Enix will find it for you if you registered Final Fantasy XIII to your Square Enix Account.

Today, Capcom posted a new trailer/Vidoc for Remember Me showcasing memory theft. It showcasese the many things you can do with the memories you get. The game is looking amazing and seems like Capcom is making good decisions when it comes to this game and I cannot wait for it launch this June.
Remember Me will be released by Capcom in North America on June 4th and Europe on June 7th for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.

Today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be released this Summer.
No date has been anounced but the next phase of beta testing will feature PS3 testing and allow PC users to play with PS3 users. That is something pretty cool and I will say that makes me want the game a little bit more. the phase 3 beta will also introduce new content and cities.
The PC beta is going on now but PS3 beta testing will not happen until June.
In Japan the band Dragon Ash will be working with Capcom to make a music video for the song ‘Trigger’ using scenes from the game Resident Evil: Revelations meaning Capcom has decided to skip a step and just make their own AMV’s with the game. The trailer will debut in mid May but a preview has been posted below.

Capcom has announced that a Resident Evil: Revelations HD demo is heading west and will be available on all platforms; PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. The publisher didn’t give us any release dates but did say it’s coming “soon.”
