Final Fantasy X HD is alive!

Sony’s japanese website got a video up regarding lots of PS Vita news (all individually covered here on Geimaku). Right at the end, Square Enix game producer Shinji Hashimoto presented some footage of the new character models for the HD revamp. Check it out after the break.

If you played Final Fantasy X on the PS2, you may have noted that there are two different models for the characters in the game. One simpler for walking around / fighting battles and a more detailed one, used for cutscenes. I can’t say for sure if they are using the better models on this Vita version (based on the video), but they look better than the average ones.

FFX HD was announced back in 2011 at the Tokyo Game Show for the PS3 and PS Vita. No release date yet, but since it’s Square Enix we’re talking about, it’s better to just forget about it so you can be surprised once the game releases. Hashimoto himself said that the release date will be announced “shortly” and the team is concentrated on developing the best HD version possible, so there’s no need to rush.
